Each summer, the city hires over 85 staff to support parks, camps, aquatics, programming, special events and more.

The Summer Job Fair is a great way to meet staff, learn more about working for the city and gain a better understanding of roles and the application process.

Attend the fair on January 14, 2026 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the main lobby of the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. There will be staff from city departments representing recreation, summer camps, parks and volunteer services. Free entry.

The City of Waterloo is a living wage employer, which means all full-time, part-time and contract staff earn at least a living wage. The lowest hourly wage for city staff is currently $22.70.
